Number processing doesnt work on grid?

I am playing around with the grid which looks great but i want to multiply an output and the multipler doesnt seem to produce any output? do i have to enable something? I am using the trial version

Then i just connected two consts to multiplier and still no output. I can see the inputs changing as the consts are changed but the out put doesnt show.

Also when i just connect a const to a value read object the valueread doesnt update.

Is that expected?

ahh ok - they seem to just update when i play a note
