Hi Experts here,

Can anyone kindly help to clarify what the big difference is between Reason version 12 and version 11?

If there is no big difference, I would not upgrade.

Also, does anyone have experience with Reason's promotion schedule? like Christmas sale,, New Year sale. Some vendors have promotions at Christmas time every year.

I read their website. To me, not a big change. But I can be very wrong, as something new there may not seem to be significant to me. Maybe some new tricks that I have not heard at all? or any kind of good things in version 12. Thanks.

They had a sale on updates which ended this month.
You may get lucky and find some places still have stock.

New combinator is pretty big thing, I guess. Also HD graphics.

Only thing that pushes me to update myself. There is going to be VST3 update next year IIRC.

new combinator, new instrument sampler: mimic, hi dpi graphics, improved browser

As noted, VST3 and Apple Silicon native happening soon. Really, all of this could have been an 11.xx update, but you know...money.
