This thread was originally for info ahead of release. NB - this isn't an official FAQ, just community wisdom.

POST-RELEASE FAQ

Is there a demo?
No.

Why has Avenger lost all my content?
Don't panic - you need to repoint the content location at the top of VMan.

Have the CPU spiking issues been fixed?
For many people affected, v2.0.5 seems to have reduced or eliminated this issue entirely.

V Man says I'm still on 1.8.6, how can I tell what version I am really on?
There was a V Man glitch where it wasn't correctly reporting the installed version. This should have now been fixed. You can check what version your plugin really is by opening Avenger, clicking the SYS tab and the information is at the bottom of that pane.

Does Avenger 2 overwrite Avenger 1? Do old projects work ok?
Yes, Avenger 2 overwrites Avenger 1. So far no reports of any anomalies in past projects, which open with Avenger 2.

Something has gone wrong with my install (eg Factory library duplicated, fx presets missing etc)
The most reliable way to install is using Vman. Make sure the filepath is set correctly at the top of Vman. Look on disk, if you have more than one version of Factory Library 2 you can delete one. If something has corrupted, delete and download it again.

Can I use SQs and ARPs in commercial projects?
"To make this clear once and for all, we never did and never will "sue" anyone using complete loops, sequences or whatever. Of course you should make your own music. For example there were "releases" by "labels" on apple music etc, which basically were just our complete demo tracks (!). Also we have constantly false youtube claims from automatic AI's, claiming our official sound demos belong to label xy, but in fact they only released the music of an artist, who used some of our Nexus or Avenger arps 1:1. To be able to counter prove these claims we keep owning the copyright on paper. Stop posting chatGPT bs or other false posts. Just make music. Regarding YT claims, which YOU can get when using unaltered pre-made Sequences - that is not our problem, we wont interfere there. (Would be a fulltime job anyways...) These claims are made by bots of revenue collecting labels. You will have to live with that if you use unaltered Sequences 1:1. How much will it be, and what about the upgrade price?
No RRP yet, but upgrade price will be 99 euros. There will be an additional Black Friday discount on top.

Will there be a grace period?
Released November 24 2023: all who bought within the last 3 months are in the grace period and get the update for free.
All who bought between 3-6 months will get a free expansion

I know that you cant wait... me too, want to release it and show it to you. But its still work to do, we want to get everything right and include some more features, like the piano roll. Currently we are working on a randomizer (auto composer) for the arp, and this is so cool, I want to show it asap.

I forgot: Together with the Drum module overhaul, there will be a new library with tons of drumloops from all kind of categories

and you forgot to list also the new Reverb plugin "RutaVerb" with 5 different algorhitms, for exaple "black hole" wich is a very big reverb type. This Reverb will also get a shimmer feature, I will do a video soon

I dont sufficiently know about neither to influence your final decision. MPE likely not yet, but they might do it in the future.



if enough people talk about MPE, they might add it. I have Avenger but dont have any MPE devices, and I would like MPE support too.

This is really a good time to be involved in synths. This Avenger 2 looks like a beast. It'll definitely have powerful company with the upcoming likes of Zebra 3, Synthmaster 3, Blue III, etc.

Wonder if they can add something as simple as making the multisample player thingies loop with crossfaded start/end, so that looping is actually useful and you don't get nastiness every time a loop repeats and instead can create seemless loops.

.. and I'll add here again the wish for the shaper modules EQ setting to have the EQ nodes properly track with keyboard tracking (aka just like the filters, over the whole range). It's a very little feature but would be infinitely useful.
