Hi, I need help with the aftertouch modulation.

I have Studio One 4, Pigments 3 and Akai MPK Mini 3. I cannot setup aftertouch modulation somehow. In Pigments there is a mod Source called AT. Im assigning it to the cutoff, but it doesn't do anything. If fact, many Pigments presets where the aftertiuch modulation is used, doesn't trigger AT modulation after the MPK key release. Am I'm missing something? I've tried the same thing in FL studio and had exactly the same problem. Do the keyboard and S1 need to undergo a special setup to make that working?

I'm mean the MPK keyboard note key. Once I release it, I expect the modulation to kick in during the Envelope decay/release time. In other words, I expect the aftertouch modulation after the sustain has been finished. But it doesn't happen.

Maybe I misunderstand you, but, it reads like you expect a modulation on key release.

That's not how Aftertouch works. Maybe you take "after touch" too literally.

I think what you're talking about exists as well: Modulation on note release. But, not sure how that works in terms of implementation in the software and hardware.

Aftertouch is the pressure you apply when holding a note. It activates when you fully press the key, and then apply some extra pressure, and works in a certain range.

Ok, thanks for clarification.
Btw, regarding the modulation on note release. Vital does this with its LFOs set to SAW Up waveform and choosing the Envelope Sustain mode.

You can do the same thing in pigments by making a Crossfade combinate, set the modulation that you want after the note is released to the one value, set the other Crossfade value to a 0-set modulation, like a macro button that you always keep at 0.

Set the Crossfade's amount knob to the zeroed value's side, then modulate the amount button to an envelope with fast attack, and release time set to how long you want the modulation to take to kick in, and the sustain set to 0db or w/e (highest). This will make the cross fade flip from the zeroed value to your chosen modulation after the sustain is dropped.
