Hi
I'm not sure if this is possible but i'd like to trigger shaperbox2 (Drive) on my bass channel with each kick drum.
So effectively sidechaining the bass with the kick but it triggering the drive (as opposed to sidechain compression, for example).
I'm using Logic Pro.
Any pointers would be really appreciated.
thanks

Read the Envelope Follower section starting on page 34 of the ShaperBox v2.4.4 user manual (or just the Sidechain subsection on page 42 if you don’t need the context).
Then read the Choose a source for a side chain signal into a plug-in section on page 570 of the Logic Pro User Guide.
Add 1+1 together, and you should get the answer you’re after.

Great thank you will give that a go. Read the sidechain instruction for the shaperbox but couldn't resolve. I'll try this.
Thanks for the speedy reply

Report back if you have any trouble. It should literally just be the steps I pointed out above. (I try to help others figure stuff out vs doing it for them cause that’s how you learn lol).
EDIT: It is just those steps, just configured it on my end. I've never actually done it before so had to self-check myself lest I look foolish lol.

Thanks. Its great to hear you've got it to work but i've read the pages you suggest but still can't get it to work. TBH i'm not really clear on how to do what it suggests below.
I've tried the straight forward approach (e.g select kick in top right of shaperbox) and also tried more complex routing.
For this to work, you must use your
DAW to route the sidechain signal into ShaperBox 2’s secondary inputs (ie, inputs 3 &
4). Please see your DAW’s manual for information on this.
In Logic Pro, click the Side Chain Source pop-up menu in the plug-in header area, then
choose one of the available sources. (DOES THIS SIMPLY MEAN CHOOSING THE SOURCE E.G. KICK AT THE TOP RIGHT (SIDECHAIN DROP DOWN) ON SHAPERBOX?

This project has a a kick Track and a bass Track with ShaperBox 2 on the Bass. I used an Audio Track for the kick just for speed but it can be an Instrument Track as well.
Per the Logic Pro documentation, select the Track you want to use as side chain input for the plugin. This is configuring the side chain setup at the DAW level.
Next per the ShaperBox documentation, expand the Envelope Follower with the little arrow, click the power button icon to enable it, then click the sidechain input button.
Play your project and you should see the Oscilloscope display is now triggering the distortion based on the incoming kick audio signal.
After you got it working, mess with the settings per the documentation (Envelope Controls on page 35). Or do the time-tested production process and "just click stuff and see what happens" lol.

You star, thank you so much. I don’t know how but did not spot the side chain icon button in the manual and so that’s what I didn’t have selected.
I’ll now make a commitment to read the manual start to finish.
Thank you!!!
