Hi! Im trying to make this (aparently?) two specific sounds/effect. I'll let a video bellow with the exact moment extracted for each case from the songs I heared it from.
The first is a snare in "Nobody speaks" by DJ Shadow. In the first verse it have a standart chpped snare with no much on it, after the chorus it change into the same one (I think) but with a layer behind or some sort or filter/effect that makes it "colder" and somwhat hollow, and I just can't tell what exactly is. The only thing I can compare to is to that, again, cold-lonely vibe lead in "spacebound" from Eminem. That one, in my ignorance, sound as a kind of wind instrument but with a saw waveform and a lot of reverb, againg, the sound in question is in the video bellow.
I would like to know how to make both in case it are totally different things.
From now on, thank you!
How to make this coldish wind sound?

You'll probably get some better answers than mine, but I'd say:
- the bit of noise added to the snare sounds not unlike a DMX clap with a bit of reverb, perhaps with a bit filtering on the clap to bring out that particular frequency.
- the wind instrument could be done 2 ways: a sine being frequency modulated with a noise signal, or white noise going through a key-tracked filter with a high resonance, creating the whistling sound.
