Hello,
I have a technical question regarding the FMR RNC 1773. I was looking to connect it directly to my Babyface Pro without a separate preamp, but I was told that this does not work well as it adds another unnecessary step of analog to digital conversion.
How I have it set up right now is I have 2 ¼ TS cables connected to input left and right on the RNC, leading to the Headphone jack to the Babyface pro. I then have another ¼ TS connected to In 3 on the Babyface Pro and then on the left mono output on the RNC. I seem to be getting a signal through as I see that gain reduction is being made, but I’m only get a buzzing noise when I do this - no sound. It seems apparent I probably have something backwards at the least.
Could anyone comment on if I have it set up wrong or if I will need another piece of outboard gear such as a preamp to complete the chain?
Thanks
Connecting FMR RNC 1773 directly to Babyface Pro

Trying to use it to track vocals in pro tools; I can't get it to print the effects into pro tools, but I see when I use Ableton my instrumentals are being affected by the compressor. Perhaps this is a Pro Tools thing. Hope this is the clarification you're looking forEtienne1973 wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 6:41 pm Tells us more about the application(s) you like to use the RNC?
