hi i've got a question for other musicians on this forum who
might be familiar with the midi protocol and whom might have alot of experience using, creating, and collecting what are called midi files, maybe you even use a midi controller and or a midi sequencer and run midi files regularly in your set up.
I'm looking for midi drum files prefferably free but also good quality ones that might not be too expensive.

yes, try groove monkee for sure...free samples

...and you can get the beats with LinPlug RMIV now if you need a drum sample player

I'm leaning towards RMIV
