The Martinic AX Chorus has arrived!

Available for download via Martinic's website at: https://www.martinic.com/products/ax-chorus

The Martinic AX Chorus AAX/AU/CLAP/VST2/VST3 plugin is based on the ACE modeled MN3009 Bucket Brigade (BBD) chip found in both the AX73 and AX60 vintage synthesizers from Akai. We developed it with the chorus 100% the same as the mono input versions found in the original hardware synthesizers and then added the option of making it a stereo effect!

As Akai never released the chorus as a separate effect we envisioned how it might have looked in the 1980s, and have included both the AX73 and AX60 chorus effects in one unit!

We have CLAP support working ( https://www.martinic.com/blog/clap-audio-plugin-format ) and will implement VST3 early next year. Not because we feel it is better than VST2.4 but because Cubase will drop VST2.4 support at the end of next year. We are at the moment working on AAX support so our aim is to support VST2.4/VST3/AU/AAX/CLAP soon

Oh good!
Really you should have launched with VST3 support, though. You can't be a developer in 2022 and not support 2022 formats.

There's a nicer way to ask the status of VST3 support. And the developer gave you a polite answer anyway.

You shouldn't have to ask about the status of VST3 support for a new commercial plugin being released in November 2022. I didn't ask if it's 64-bit, but maybe I need to ask that as well.

For what seems like a simple little plugin, the AX73 and AX60 deliver excellent chorus FX options, from subtle and creamy to wide and thick. Many times chorus seems like chorus, but there's enough variation between these two models and adjustments within each to deliver a nice range of morph. Great job, Martinic. It seems you guys are venturing into FX plugins. Very cool!!! I especially like plugins that are easy to use, yet powerful.

It doesn't matter, there's no need to ask if "this developer is a joke". It's a rude and totally unnecessary way to behave in a public forum.

I love the AX73 chorus. It's a great idea to turn it into a plugin itself.

So first of all, it was a question, not a statement. And it is a legitimate question. This is a relatively new/small developer who is selling $120 plugins without explicitly telling potential customers there is no VST3 version.

So yes, I want to know. Is this a reputable developer? And anyone like me who almost hit the buy button thinking they would be purchasing a modern plugin should know they aren't even supporting the current industry standard plugin format.

It would have actually been true to standard KVR form if I had accused them of being "a scam" or "janky." But I did neither.

Your point about VST3 is fair jamcat, but the tone a bit harsh. The formats could be listed on the plugin page. I suspect once they have added AAX, CLAP and VST3 they will be marketing that. They do offer free trials, so not like a potential customer can't do their due diligence. I have a few of their plugins and have demoed & beta tested a few more. They are reputable and AFAICT are trying to do things the right way. Just look at their response in this thread as proof positive.

p.s. According to their website, Martinic has been making plugins for 6 years. Wouldn't call them new, even relatively. Perhaps new to you.

New CLAP plugin standard now available on ALL Martinic plugins.

Wasnt Martinic also involved in the Arturia - development, dont think its about joking here. The Chorus is also just gorgeous btw. :phones:

The question about VST3 is valid. Asking if the developer is "a joke" is rude. I'm guessing if you were in the same room as the dev, you wouldn't respond that way. You should behave the same way online. Don't be a dick.
