Should i get a new Laptop

Currently, I'm using a Lenovo Legion Laptop Ipurchased in the summer of 2019. It has a I7-9750, 16 Gigs of Ram, a 1TBSSD and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, and right now there are no problems with my machine. Since Black Friday is coming up, I was thinking about upgrading my laptop. . However, would doing so give me a bump in performance from my current machine to justify doing so?

yeah im with bert, at 3 years old, you have at least another year or two, before that one is "old tech".
by which point in time, chances are newer things will be released, so today's top of the range, moves in to a more affordable range.
meaning you'll get a better bang for buck upgrade at a time it is also needed.

Technically, sure, you'll get a "performance bump", but there's also the question(s) of:

Is your current machine under performing? And if so, is it due to the hardware specs, or what you've installed on it?

Are you doing tasks that you would notice the increased performance with?

For audio production, remember that you're running a system light-years ahead of what was around 10 years ago, and music was still just as fantastic then. Gaming? That will almost always be an endless upgrade cycle! Naturally, buy what you want, especially with sales around the corner.

But I agree, if it ain't broke....

If you're looking strictly for music, with those specs you're probably not going to see much of a difference by upgrading to something new.
