From the reFX's YouTube info:
"This is not just remastered; This is remade, enhanced, and improved.

A new, cleaner UI. Ten new wavetables, two new filter types, a new delay type, a completely new reverb, a new distortion FX, synced LFOs, etc.

Also, 136 completely new factory presets are included with VANGUARD2.

All Vanguard expansions previously sold on reFX are included.

All drums you hear in this demo are included as individual WAV files.

VANGAURD2 will be available on Black Friday, November 25th, 2022."

It comes with all previous expansions, so it seems like it should. I own Vanguard so I wonder if there will be an upgrade.

Now I gotta dig for my Vanguard 1 license in case there's an upgrade option. Stopped using this back during the 32- to 64-bit transition years ago.

Wow! ReFX must have been laughing while we debated the plausibility of them bringing back Vanguard... since it was almost ready for release! It's nice that I can still be shocked at a release! Well done! Vanguard was my first plugin purchase, and I have a very warm place in my heart for it. This will be a no brainer for me.

Anyone who has Vanguard 1 might be in for a treat. This is from a 2014 press release -

"Vanguard2 will be 64-bit, fully backwards-compatible with Vanguard, and will be provided, upon release, as a free upgrade for all owners of a Vanguard license. No release date has been set."

Better late than never, I suppose.

A new synth should include much more presets in the base package IMHO. Yes the Vanguard 1 expansions are included, but that all old stuff.

it seems to me:

if they give it for free (even if a very cheap upgrade price) to previous owners, then they have nothing to complain about since it is all upside.

if you aren't a previous owner, then all the previous soundbanks (which are all included) are new to you.

i don't see a problem.

I disagree. There just aren't that many unique sounds to make more than 100 or so presets worthwhile. You end up with a dozen different versions of the same themes, it's a complete waste of time. I am more likely to buy a synth with 100 presets than one with 400, for the simpel reason it will be easier to find the good stuff.
