I confess, I might have to confess before the day is out. As of now, however, I have purchased NOTHING and plan on buying NOTHING!

Is it consumerism though if one abstains from purchases throughout the year to buy when they’re on sale at what is hopefully the steepest discount available?

Oh, I’m already sliding down that road due to my waiting for LiquidSonics’ Black Friday sale. I’ve been wanting Cinematic Rooms Pro for a while now, and it seems like as good a sale as one could expect, so I’ll snag it… or maybe 7th Heaven. I’m not sure.

I look at buying like this: Buying is giving. I hope that the projects I work on are successful because it allows me to buy food, housing, etc, that aren’t really things I can do without. I also know that there’s a person working on something else that would also enjoy food and other necessities of life, and maybe even something fun.

This year is going to be a fairly lean year, though. I can justify a few plugins because I can write them off on my taxes. My wife’s been out of work since the summer, as 70% of her company’s work force was in Ukraine, and we all know what a s-show that is. They finally had to do big lay-offs and they totally eliminated her department. Normally I’d go bigger on Christmas, but this year it’s really just going to be about our daughter. Luckily for me, I’m really set for stuff, and there’s really not much I’m actually really excited about getting.
