I was looking at grid controllers, primarily as a midi input device (Scale modes etc) and see a couple at Novation today for around the same price; a new original (presumably) LaunchPad Pro or Launchpad X refurb (though 3 year warranty), £99/£112.
Looking at the specs I'm not sure what's relevant, looks like the X is the newer model, more customisable maybe? Both have velocity and pressure pads which is what I'm after, other midi controller functionality would be good.
Words of wisdom appreciated. Thanks.

There's a significant difference beetween the touch of the launchpad pro and those of the pro mk3 and launchpad x.
Old launchpad pro (wich you can still find sold new on some stores ) is good but less reactive, you have to apply more pressure to trigger it than the newer ones. Still, that older one is much better to control after touch.
Main difference beetween launchpad X and pro mk3 is the hardware sequencer and midi outputs. (Note that I did not tried the X myself but own and use regularly pro and pro mk3 as midi note input ).
