There is currently a deal for 25 of the most popular soundpacks free if you subscribe to splice, or are already a subscriber (if you subscribe, go claim then now.)

otherwise, bargain buyer beware...

Splice sucks (unless you subscribe) and that deal sucks (unless you plan to stay subscribed.)

But let me tell you why SPLICE SUCKS so you could make up your own mind.

First of all, they removed the “sync all files” option, so you manually will have to sync most of the 6000+ samples INDIVIDUALLY (yes that is 60000 plus scrolls and clicks, ladies and gentlemen) to get the sample files downloaded onto your computer... Of course if you are already a subscriber or plan to subscribe (imo not worth it... loopcloud is better) then this is a moot point.

Secondly, you arent able to see the price of ANYTHING without scrolling over to make some tooltip, and their is NO sorting by price... NONE.

Thirdly, you cannot see if any sample is a freebie without scrolling over and creating a tooltip for each sample INDIVIDUALLY... so good luck searching for several hours to find 2 or 3 free ones.

you cant tell how much a pack is going to be unless you subscribe, and the prices are in points, which you have to do mathematical gymnastics to figure out if something is a good deal (ive seen them charge way more on some packs than the originator of the samples, so i dont trust anyone.) i have no problem actually doing the math, but i dont want to. i want to make music.

loopcloud has its flaws but atleast you can easily find free samples and download the limit everyday in a few minutes, and the cost (while still in annoying credits) is posted clearly so that you dont have to create a tooltip for each indicidual item to see it... you can quickly glance at a list and see what samples are freebies (typiclaly a small percent of most packs... 5-10 samples.)

So these capitalist pricks at splice have it all figured out, by making it inneficient as hell, so that they can get you to pay dor their overpriced subscription... i suppose if you are making a living producing music then it may be worth it.

Not for me.

i consider this deal a complete waste of time (and probably for most of you.)

Thanks for the tips. I signed up for the 14 day trial just for the 25 free packs. I won't be sticking around even at the discounted prices because ya splice just seems to be a terrible service despite them rolling in cash with the most subscribers. I already have loopcloud anyway.

I added all the free 25 packs to my account. Hopefully I should be able to download them all before my 14 days is up? Is there any other free ones I should get.
