Hmmm... sorry if this doesn’t exactly belong here, but i could not decide which sub-forum to put it in.
Is their software dedicated to keeping your band in time during a live performance?
examples i can think off the top of my head are something that would provide a synchronized click track across multiple devices, or synchronized flashing on several devices at once.
The main thing i am looking for is that it is synchronized across multiple devices. The rest i am willing to explore.

Network latency makes this very difficult, especially on Android (which has very bad audio latency as well)

why flashing on multiple devices?
just put the flashy thing, where everyone can see it.
usually though, click to drummer, then everyone keeps time with the drummer.

network latency makes no difference at all when you use an isolated router.BertKoor wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 2:44 pm Network latency makes this very difficult, especially on Android (which has very bad audio latency as well)
by providing a feedback loop from the slave devices to the master device, which could provide stable latency info on a router with no other traffic, all the devices could be made to be perfectly in sync.

i suppose if you are playing in a two piece band, you can almost always put the device in a spot where everyone could see it. it doesnt take too much imagination to see where this could be a problem with more people, and especially when you start to get bigger groups.vurt wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 3:05 pm why flashing on multiple devices?

not all music has a drummer, and the drummer doesnt play constantly in all music.

for those tracks, use the bassist. (or relevant player) drummer is an example here.Sebastiantheseeker wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 3:24 pmnot all music has a drummer, and the drummer doesnt play constantly in all music.vurt wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 3:05 pm why flashing on multiple devices?

oh come on, answer the damn question, and quit trying to shoot down why i would like this. geez, dude. not everything fits your conception of what a band is.vurt wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 3:27 pmfor those tracks, use the bassist. well i also offered the single flash device, you focused on the other one.
why is a single flashing device problematic?
im not shooting anything down btw, im offering possible solutions, not my fault you haven't provided enough information to discern what is possible...

dont argue with me about what im looking for. i need multiple devices. do you know of anything? if you dont, then move on. a singular device wont work.

I haven't used them, but this seems to be the focus of the soundbrenner devices: https://www.soundbrenner.com/
But it looks like everyone in the band would have to buy a device. They have a metronome app, but it doesn't say anything about synching.

Me thinks you want an app that replaces a conductor. But more context is needed.
How many players? What age, what type of instrument? How loud are they playing? What type of device are you thinking of?

thanks alot. this is along the lines of what im looking for. i think the price is a bit astronomical for what it does, but it fulfills the purpose...magog wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 6:26 pm I haven't used them, but this seems to be the focus of the soundbrenner devices: https://www.soundbrenner.com/

it would be in place of a conductor.
any amount of players, any age, any instrument, any volume (it needs to be flexible.)
it could be for a singer and a violinist, for example, or a stage full of people who wont be able to see (or hear) the same area for cues.
the devices i refer to are android, ios devices, mac, pc, (linux if anyone does that,) but basically devices that most people have already. at this point it is not a requiirement for specific devices thouh. i want to know what exists regardless.
but what im looking for is stuff already in the market that:
1) keeps time by light, sound, both, or some other way a musician could detect (in the above example it was touch also, which is fine.)
2) is synchronized across multiple devices that may be placed in different areas within an open room up to the size of a typical venue stage (100 ft)
these are ALL of the requirements... the particular devices are not a requirement at this point.
i didnt know asking about a timekeeping thing across devices was going to be so difficult...

1k downloads on Google Play. Seems to be a rather niche market, so you need a lot of luck.
