I am used to Cakewalk 9. It is pretty lame.
I like AudioMulch for experimenting.
I tried Logic and did not like it.

I handle audio only, no MIDI.
I like to tweak stuff.

What audio editing/composition sw should I look into besides:
Sonar
Cubase
fruityloops

Adobe Audition

Sound Forge 7 is good, CoolEdit is also good. I found the Adobe Audition killed by ASIO setup by inserting the Adobe ASIO drivers into everything (and they have about 500ms latency builtin... :-) There are a couple of freeware ones also floating around (don't recall right at this moment though...) but it really all boils down to what you are trying to do and and how much you're willing to pay to do it... :-)

HI

I recently asked about Adobe and got a big thumbs up, so I find it a little worrying that ASIO is screwed up is are VST!

I still have my old copy of SoundForge (5.0) that works great. The beauty of it is that I have yet to need to upgrade :) Someday I hope to have the money too but for right now even being a couple of versions behind it does everything I could currently need.

Audition didn't install any audio drivers here, ASIO or other. ASIO is not an option in "Device Properties".

I have however read about people having difficulties that also have Premiere installed.[/b]

Best audio editor IMHO is Adobe Audition due to its great interface and multitrack editing.
