after nearly 4 years (don't ask, don't ask, don't ask)
as executor, my younger brother is approaching at his own pace the closure on our father's estate.

if all goes well, from this within the next few months I will receive a sum of money.

I have debts, I have obligations, I have many things that I have put off doing for lack of funds, but I also have this hobby and I feel like I should buy something so every time I use it I'll think of the old man.

On the high end I'm thinking of a new laptop
I've got a P-4 2.4 gHz so it's not like it's a screaming need. But nothing is a sceaming need.

maybe some high-end flat response headphones

probably upgrade to Sonar 4 (but can't see why I need surround, and bareley used to Sonar 3PE so may just go with Sonar 4 SE

most of my buying lust right now is inexplicably drawn to NI Synthetic Drums CD -- I fought off the RMIV group buy and picked up dr-008 for $50 to save some cash for this CD.

other than that with Komplete 2, Tera, rhino and Albino, I need time to learn what I have more than more instruments.
