Closest to a iPad Mini footprint?

Use case: need windows device to essentially be a sound module to feed a small sampler...

But I run a lot of old, unsupported plugins (i.e. SQ8L) so I'm not sure what kind of issues I'd run into with a newer, touchscreen device.

Anyone can provide some suggestions?

AFAIK, nobody has made a small form factor Windows tablet for 6 or 7 years. I've got an 8" Lenovo Yoga, from 2016, running Windows 8.1 and it would be fine for your needs, I think. I have no idea where'd you'd find one today, though.

Your next best bet might be an old Surface Pro. You can pick up a Pro 4 or 5 for a few hundred bucks on eBay and they are mostly ex-corporates that tend to be in good condition.

Depends on your budget, the best one is ASUS Flow z13.
