How Do I Hook Up The Golden Age Project Pre-73?

I have the GAP Pre-73 Premier. On the front panel of the Pre-73 Premier, there is a button that says LINE.

If I connect to my audio interface through the TRS output on the back of the Pre-73, into my interface, I know I'm supposed to set my audio interface to LINE (in order to bypass the preamps on my interface).

My question is, do I also press the LINE button on the front of my Pre-73 Premier, or just leave it?

So, in other words, do I have to press LINE on just my audio interface or both the interface and the preamp?

That depends what the input of the preamp is. If you connect a microphone to it, then the preamp should be switched to Mic, so Line depressed and Low-Z pressed. If you connect a synth or whatever, it better be switched to Line. With apassive guitar or bass, press DI and Line.

You should notice the 30dB gain difference between these settings, the gain knob should not need to go to either of the extremes but sit somewhere in the middle.

The output level of preamps is always Line level, so you should use the Line input of your audio interface indeed.
