Which version for Mac OS 10.11 ?

I want to preview Photosounder before I consider purchasing it. However, there are a lot of older versions, and I need to find one that is compatible with my Mac operating system OS 10.11 :

1) Which version will function correctly, without any bugs, for my Mac OS 10.11 so I can test it out ?
2) Would the version in 1) be the best version for me to purchase if I am happy when I test it out ?
