Disabling Midi functionality in Audition?

Whenever i start Adobe Audition to work on samples while Ableton Live is running i always get a pop up stating "Error opening midi port - the specified device is already in use." The "pop up" is actually a "pop behind" which is even more annoying...

Thing is i don't need any midi functionality in Audition. I've tried all kinds of different settings in Audition but can't figure out how to tell that damn program that it should not look for open midi ports.
I've already posted on the Audition board but didn't get much help.

Anyone here in the know?
