It helps to increase loudness while preserving the dynamic range or even creating more headroom for the track, all while maintaining transparency.

I think the question was about : Is it compressing ? Limiting ? Saturating ?
Is it a waveshaper like Inflator (Sonnox) ? Or a compressor/limiter combo like Masterdesk (Plugin Alliance) or MM-1 (Softube) ?

I think it's a waveshaper, but it's not very clear in this thread or in the pdf manual...

Sure. There are multiple clippers with unique features, saturation, parametric waveshaper, and filters under the hood.

We just released a new major free update for the Techivation M-Loudener. It offers several new features and improvements:

What's new

- [New feature added] Difference Meter: It displays the change in RMS levels between the input and output.
- [New feature added] Match RMS: It adjusts the output audio levels to match with the input’s RMS value.
- [New feature added] Set Drive: It sets the Drive parameter to a safe level quickly to avoid any unwanted distortion.
- [New feature added] Tooltips: A handy 'tooltips' option that you can enable or disable from the plugin's menu.
- Plug-in loading speed improved.
- Separate Legacy Installer available to support older macOS systems: 10.9 - 10.11
- Windows installer now supports 32-bit as well.
- Minor bug fixes.

I picked this up and installed it. I didn't have time to try it on multiple sources as I was working on a mix. I just did a quick test on snare drum. It's not a good choice there. Smooths out the sound and the transients way more than I would want. I'll be checking it out further on other sources when I get a chance. I like the layout and functions. Easy to get it setup. I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do.
