Waves Clones In High Demand!

With the news that Waves will be forcing even long time license holders into a subscription model, I would love to see companies that still allow ownership make some clones of Waves most popular plugins.
I know there are already one for one alternatives of some of their plugs, like there's a million SSL channel strip options etc., I'm talking about the plugs that seem unique to Waves.
It's just a good (if not cynical) business decision. I personally would LOVE a clone/alternative of the MV2, as it's the only Waves plugin I can't seem to easily swap out. There are other plugs that I could sorta kinda do the same thing with, but nothing as simple and straightforward as the MV2.
A calculated line of clones of maybe Waves top ten unique plugins? There are A LOT of seriously pissed off Waves users scrambling for alternatives.

MV2 is upwards and downwards compression in the same interface - I'm sure there's a few around. Here's a free one with more features and a handy signal/threshold display:

Simplicity + quick results without too many distracting sliders or knobs was one upside of some Waves plugins, MV2 is one example known as "secret weapon" for bass.

The music production world will never be the same after the fall and crash of Waves.
A lot of users are not even going to use the Waves plugins they have any more, dissapointment is huge.
Waves is history!

Jeez, get a grip of yourself. I’m sure the music production world will carry on as normal. I’m going to carry on using Waves in every track I do. Come back in a year and let’s see if Waves are no moreDCrown wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 4:41 am The music production world will never be the same after the fall and crash of Waves.

I have read other forums, youtube, twitter and you can truly say that this has created some... waves. So, yes a company can lose loyal customers.

Try Eventide's Omnipressor. It's better.Domlun wrote: Tue Mar 28, 2023 3:13 am It's just a good (if not cynical) business decision. They certainly aren't history. Engineers making money in this game will sub as will a lot of hobbyists. Don't forget that there will be a certain amount of users that will welcome having all Waves plugins without having to buy each individual one. My prediction is that they will certainly survive and very likely adjust the prices of their subs to perhaps 20 - 50% off the current sub cost. This will tempt back a lot of users.

Yeah, this move is not going to put Waves under. But it might also not stop Waves from going under.
If ending WUP and the sale of perpetual licenses hurts Waves, they can always resume either or both. So worst case scenario is Waves ends up back where they started.
But, clearly everything Waves has been doing for the past few years has been to try to survive in a shifting market.
This latest move is probably a last ditch effort to stay solvent. So if they have to backtrack, then they will likely fall, since the previous model clearly was no longer working for them. If it had been, they’d still be on it.

You didn't contradict me though... And I wasn't the only one either:
