Cakewalk bugs. Recognize them?

My Latest composition to Music Cafe contest was a struggle to get it to sound ok.
I played and recorded a midi clip and copied that and pasted x instances of it in the track.
There where 4 track setup that way. I then began to edit notes in clips. Opened the pianoroll view and did an edit. Closed or minimized prv. When doing multiple note edits, looking at the track i could see that some random? midiclips had moved half a beat forward or back. Had to check the whole track and move the clips in place again. And this was going on with those four tracks with multiple midiclips in them. I gave up and settled for ok and not good composition.
I'm also a bit tired of instrument plugins staying put in the output dropdown menu.
I drag in an instrument and play it. Change my mind and delete the whole track. I drag in another instrument and play it. Yet again, change my mind and delete the whole track.
Those instrument plugins is not deleted in the output menu. That could build up to be a problem if there's many tracks with many changed minds as to the instrument used.
I have an idea what to test with the midiclips and that is to "bounce to clip" before i start to edit them. They where not bounced in this scenario.
About the instrument plugins. If you decide to not use the instrument in the track, do you avoid deleting the track and replace the instrument with another one instead?

I haven't tested the first issues you mentioned just yet.
About the deleting or replacing instruments question:
I almost always use the Replace function.

I noticed that clips can move when I doubleclick midi clips and go into edit
- and snap is not active
- so a slight movement sideways doubleclicking is what I found can do that anomali
But rightclicking header of clip and go into edit is fine.
And snap on quarternote active or so also fine.
I run Sonar Artist 2015 now, but ran Cakewalk by Bandlab for a while a couple of years ago.
Deleting instrument track is something to look for in Synth rack if it remains or not. Sonar/Cakewalk always create an entry in Synth Rack even when doing simple instrument track. Not all daws do that. Overall Sonar/Cakewalk create tracks for each output in track view as well which is something I really like when freezing synths you get audio there.

Sometimes i had to deactivate snap to get the notes where i wanted them. I thought i activated snap again after editing, but i could have missed that occasionally.lfm wrote: Thu Apr 06, 2023 1:34 am I noticed that clips can move when I doubleclick midi clips and go into edit

I haven't used the synth rack up to now because my compositions seldom needs more than 10 tracks. Easy to keep track of plugins. I'll start using that view and see if i get more pointers of what's going on with my tracks.

I rebuilt one of my FL Studio projects in Cakewalk a while back, had some loops in there that were playing in sync with the rest of the project one minute and then would play out of sync the next time.
It wasn't a good sign that such a basic function as playing audio clips was messing up so badly. If it had something to do with the settings then it would have been out of sync every time. Maybe they fixed it, will have to try it again some time.
