hi guys, i still got from Best Service a unregistered Cubase Key which i never redeemed as i wanted to try out new DAWs but it is just impossible to spend more time when i didnt even touch Ableton & Bitwig much and i think Cubase wouldnt give me any more advantages etc. so i wanted to sell/transfer my key but does the new owner need a steinberg dongle? thx

Yes, 10 and 11 need a hardware dongle to use them.Caine123 wrote: Wed Apr 19, 2023 11:00 am hi guys, i still got from Best Service a unregistered Cubase Key which i never redeemed as i wanted to try out new DAWs but it is just impossible to spend more time when i didnt even touch Ableton & Bitwig much and i think Cubase wouldnt give me any more advantages etc. so i wanted to sell/transfer my key but does the new owner need a steinberg dongle? thx

But,
when the code is brand new an unused, the buyer will get the latest version with the first activation (grace period). So it will be Cubase 12, which doesn't need a dongle (new licensing system).

Good point, I did not know the grace period was still ongoing.

That is pretty much Steinberg's standard policy and has been for ages.dellboy wrote: Wed Apr 19, 2023 1:30 pm Good point, I did not know the grace period was still ongoing.
Goes for all their applications, not just Cubase.
