Steinberg Cubase 12 Pro is now available on splice.com via their rent-to-own service for $16.99 per month, for 34 months. You will have to pay the full price though. However, it's good for someone who's switching DAWs constantly and wants go back and forth with Cubase 12 Pro. This might be a good way of using it without actually buying a full license.
Also, their Backbone drum designer plugin is available as well, $4.99 per month for 30 months.

34 months is a long time. What happens when/if Cubase 13 comes out and you're still paying for 12?
Also if you buy it outright, there's a crossgrade option if you have an eligible DAW (pretty much all the major paid DAWs). Normally it's $359, but during a sale it can be as low as $215. The full non-crossgrade version of Cubase also tends to go on sale for 40% or even 50% off from time to time.

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Absolutely, 34 months is a very long time, and the sad part is you have to pay full price, and for some reason if you don't end up paying or drop your plan halfway, you end up with nothing, basically like a subscription. I have seen Cubase 12 Pro competitive cross grade for prices way lower than the full price, and I'm someone was switching from another DAW, that would be the best way to buy into Cubase, no doubt. Splice rent-to-own is just another convenience, if someone absolutely wants it now and can't pay the full price and has exhausted the demo too. Although I'm happy that they offer a 60 day demo now.

There's a slight difference in that if you stop the plan halfway through, the balance you've paid remains - so you can pick it up again.musicproducerdee wrote: Wed Apr 26, 2023 8:52 am for some reason if you don't end up paying or drop your plan halfway, you end up with nothing, basically like a subscription.
Although if you had a break for 12 months that would take near 4 years before you received a license for C12. Which is a real WTF moment!
Shame they couldn't do it somewhere between the crossgrade and full-price really, a 24 month plan fits better, 3 years is a long time especially knowing that you'll become out-dated over that period, so you effectively never get to the end of the payment cycle if you stick with Splice and extend the plan to cover the new version.
Why an earth would they want to do that to anyone?
