Hi all

I have been spending some time with a moog subsequent 37 recently and cannot get by a problem with Subsequent 37 editor with Logic Pro. I realise I cannot use multiple instances simultaneously since this is a hardware synth (and monotimbral), but to record multiple tracks I thought I could use one at a time - multiple instances that are armed while editing and later on while bouncing tracks. However, I have this "SUBSEQUENT 37 editor is already running" screen while using more than one instance and even though another instance is switched off (but still there) the screen does not go off.

The only solution is to choose another plugin temporarily (or no plugin) for the track, but then any automation recorded within the editor is deleted. And automation is definitely something that I need to keep.

Any idea how to conveniently use subsequent with logic pro other than just not using the editor and using external instrument instead? The editor is convenient for selecting and loading own patches, I have lots of those.

Edit, nevermind my previous question. Haven’t had my coffee yet! :dog:

I don’t think I’ve tried using more than one instance of the S37 editor with Logic, but it makes sense that it would give you that message. The only editor I have that is specifically designed for multiple instances with the same synth and total recall is the PolyBrute editor.

In such case I have no idea of how to save a project that uses multiple SubSequent 37s... I imagined I would switch between the instances, edit / record automation and then bounce track by track... in such case the editor makes little sense.

From page 10 of the editor manual:
NOTE: Only one instance of the Sub 37 editor is supported within a project. Because it is only an editor and cannot multiply the number of Sub 37s you own, this is generally not a problem.

When you multi track mono synths you generally record, put the wave on it's own track, then rerecord from the original armed track etc. Logic's great feature is you can save snapshots of setups to go back if you like.
