hi guys,
i recently found Sir Audio Plugins and i saw that they also have a Spectrum Analyzer, did anyone maybe compare these 2 and compared them?

Yes. I find SIR Ananyzer to be graphically smoother than SPAN, although SPAN is still smooth. SPAN has more features including extra metering, skins, some extra control over the graph. Oddly they show different results in harmonics of waves with lots of harmonic content, in terms of the amplitude of the harmonics. Close but not exact. Not sure which one is more accurate. If I were to pick one, I'd pick SIR because it's simpler and easier to use with added bonus of being a little snappier on my system, which is an old mac pro. Although SPAN is also nice and worthwhile. Both have free versions.

SIR is the only analyser with peak detection that "flags" L/R peaks in hertz and +/- cents, even in the free version

thx so much, i never had SIR Audio on my radar but with the recent CLIPPER Topic i have now ;). i use mostly SPAN but i will check their Analyer now too.

Span is fastest and super microdetail spectrum analyzer I've even seen. Probably DMG one has more dynamic data per band but Span is go to and it's even free so even no comparison here ;-)

I love both. I love that SIR will show me the frequencies that are being peaked on top of the bars.
