Making this thick Piano sound from Dua Lipa - Electricity (MK Remix)

Unsure if this is the right forum, but I figured it's worth a shot.
I've tried all sorts of different pianos including the Kontakt and Arturia ones, and just haven't been able to get something as thick and clean as MK does in this track.
The original vs my attempt can be heard here:

The closest results have been using some classic upright piano sounds, but they're just not quite the same. I feel like I'm missing something here, like maybe my chord voicing is wrong?
Thanks.

It does sound like you are missing some 7ths in your chord voicing.
The piano patch here sounds like the Korg M1 M1HousePiano preset, tweaked a bit. It's all over this type of piano house (one you hear it you can't unhear it!). There is a software version of the M1 from Korg, which I suggest you get if you like making this kind of music (it goes on sale quite regularly). It sounds like they've edited the patch a bit - probably you will want to remove some reverb and adjust the amplitude envelope decay to shorten it as they have here. The raw piano patch on its own can sound a bit weedy, compress (try OTT) and EQ it - use the original track as a reference while you're doing it. People also stack multiple pianos (maybe several from the M1), try stacking them at different octaves, etc, but I'm not sure that they've done that here.
Hope that helps!

I agree it's definitely an M1 piano or perhaps one of the myriad copies of it. Look for presets labeled "House Piano" or something like that in whatever plugins you might have.
Also worth mentioning, in the remix you posted the piano is tightly coupled with the bass. They're basically both part of a single sound you might say.
Also don't forget to sprinkle in plenty of 2's and 4's in your chords!

Thank you for your insight, I'll take a look at the chords again, I thought I may be missing some higher notes.counterparty wrote: Wed May 24, 2023 7:32 pm It does sound like you are missing some 7ths in your chord voicing.

As for the M1 VST, I do have it but I find the sounds to be a bit more grand piano and almost too bright for this purpose. I had much more luck with upright pianos, but I'll take another look and see if I can shorten to envelope to remove the high ringing. Honestly though, I'm pretty sure it's not the M1 this time, but it wouldn't be the first time MK used it if it is.

The bass is definitely well matched to the sound, but I don't care about that really, I just want to make the piano sound without the bass, as it appears at the timestamp I linked.NAD wrote: Wed May 24, 2023 8:05 pm I agree it's definitely an M1 piano or perhaps one of the myriad copies of it. I'll take a look, see my other response also! Thanks.
