I want to share with you my review of Caffe Antico’s Bass Recorder, Crumhorn and Rebec by Have Audio for virtualorchestration.it. These three libraries feature three historical instruments. The sound is good and the GUI is very minimal and easy to use. You can choose between three types of reverb and also mix them together, and without reverb the sound is quite dry so you can manipulate it as you wish.
Thanks to Have Audio for kindly sending us a copy of the libraries to review.

I got that collection and think it's pretty good! I'm using all three a bunch on an upcoming project. The crumhorn especially is very good - I appreciate the fact that it was sampled both with and without the cap - a bit more mileage out of an instrument that is inherently limited. Something I'd like to see are controls for tuning for each instrument - these are built in scripts in kontakt that would allow you to choose a key and tuning eg. F, Pythagorian. Those controls on the interface would be a real boon, and essential for getting a more realistic sound out of instruments that predate equal temperment. Great review and thanks!
