Clean install windows

My PC in long overdue for a clean install. All my VSTs and saved projects are on my Local SSD (not backed up) at the moment. I have never done a clean install in my life. What are the best practices to make the process less of a PITA. cheers

Last time I did that, I made the mistake to use the Online rather than Local account (the one I used) and my machine configuration changed, invalidating some programs that uses the Machine ID (I have no idea why but looking at the specs, it did).
So, just remember to use the same account type. Mine was/is Local but most people I know use the Online type.
