I recently bought Symptohm from JRRshop. They delivered a 'redemption' key.
Went to the Ohmforce site and tried to redeem it. Met with a 'this requires a first/second name to continue' error, but no way to input a first/second name.
Searched the error and found a workaround on KVR. Finally got the plugin to show up in my Ohmforce account as registered.
Ohmforce site emailed me a user/serial for the installer. Didn't work.
Tried all the usual tricks. Didn't work.
Tried a different machine. Didn't work.
Emailed Ohmforce. No response. Emailed Ohmforce again. No response.
Emailed JRRshop. No response.
Emailed Ohmforce a few more times. No response.

Old Ohmforce user here, from decades ago. I went to go buy an Ohmboys license a couple years ago and found that the original dev was gone and that some other person had control over the website. Ohmboys basically works as freeware now (I don't even think it's trial protections work anymore), and I use it that way. I wasn't able to get in touch with the dev, and the price for ohmboys is way too high, so I guess that's it.
I've heard of others also having trouble getting in touch with them.

There’s a couple years worth of failures in the ohnforce ohmboyz infinity thread.
I used to be in touch with the guy running it but he’s not responding. It’s a bummer.
Strangely, the plug ins broke under previous MacOS but then started working with an update to the OS. They’re never going to be apple silicon native though and the new delay doesn’t work at all on any recent MacOS or so it seems.

I upgraded to Infinity and it was a long process to get it going, but I did get them to respond a few times. I think he basically gave me his serial number, because the one generated for me just did not work. So, I ended up getting what I paid for, but the whole experience and what’s gone down for others, doesn’t give me any confidence. I’ll never give them another dime. If you’re going to just blow off work as a developer, then make your plugins free.

@skitchy
My experience is almost identical to yours. The only difference being that I did have an email exchange with someone from JRR who acknowledged the problem and said "We are reaching out to them (Ohmforce)..."
We'll see, I guess.

@kingtubby
Thanks for letting me know. If it's happening to other people then at least I know it's not something I specifically did wrong.
It's a real shame about Ohmforce though. They made some good stuff.

Same experience here... Bought from JRR Shop (who has always been great) on June 2nd. Found the workaround since there were no fields to enter the first/last names. Product then showed up in my account. Emailed license code does not work. JRR Shop has been responding that they are trying to contact Ohm Force too with no luck.
I know sh*t happens, but this is pretty rough. It's been 2+ weeks now where I bought a license and still cannot use the product. I have emailed support@ohmforce.com numerous times with no replies.

Yeah, it's weird that the code Ohmforce supply for their own product doesn't work.liquify wrote: Sat Jun 17, 2023 12:32 pm Product then showed up in my account. Emailed license code does not work..

I bought them years ago and last year successfully installed them on my MacBook M1. They did work but the GUI is small, not resizable and it was quite a hassle so eventually I removed them from my system. I really liked Ohmicide and their filter(s).

All of the Ohmforce offerings were amongst the very first DirectX plugins I bought, way way back. Transitioned to the Vsts, but have had login and registration issues with their site for a number of years... still love their stuff though. Sad ending to a very innovative development team.
