Instant upgrade @ $79 from Pro 9.
Now why can't iZotope get a clue? The RX Advanced upgrade prices are ludicrous, especially with how little you get between major versions.

Is anyone else hoping that Izotope just stops being a company and gets absorbed into NI? I feel like that would be the most likely way for their ridiculous upgrade and licensing policies to stop. NI has never come across as onerous in that regard and hopefully could have a positive impact on Izotope.
Also, hope the mods can merge the thread from the Instruments forum with this one, as Spectralayers is a Host or an Effect, but not an Instrument in any traditional sense.

I used to love Native Instruments back in the day. They used to bring actual quality products. Those Kontakt instruments and those synths were great for that time. I remember when NI used to release stuff like Alicias Keys, Una Corda, Massive, etc. Those things had a life about them. Now it's just sad.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Tue Jun 27, 2023 6:34 pm Is anyone else hoping that Izotope just stops being a company and gets absorbed into NI? Same with iZotope. Every independent artist I'd see working, would use something from iZotope. At least Ozone for mastering. It's sad what they've become. These brands haven't done anything worth noticing in a long time, except for their merger, which I'm not a fan of either ways. They were all better off alone, as individual brands.

I'm just going with results. At the moment, Spectralayers appears to have leapfrogged RX. Waves too in some areas. Online services like descript or Adobe's speech enhance. If RX11 suddenly has them back in the game, hooray. But I'm not paying for these modest, often almost imperceptible gains.
Can anyone remember how long it is until Steinberg usually do their deep discounts? 9 months or so?

It varies. They've got Spectralayers on a 1 year release schedule, so you'd expect about then.noiseboyuk wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 9:28 amCan anyone remember how long it is until Steinberg usually do their deep discounts? 9 months or so?
However, they'll be aware this version of Spectralayers has improvements which are good enough to attract new users.. and they surely won't want to miss out on taking their money
They'll rarely go past 40% for their cyclical products - IE ones which are normally upgraded every year or two.

For me, it would help in extracting stems out of a full song. It can separate instruments/vocals and provide you with individual tracks. Pretty good at it too. It can also extract chords/notes from a song and provide a midi for the same. All these are pretty handy when I want to make a remix or am trying to study the chords (songwriting) of a song. But it goes way deeper than this. This is barely scratching the surface. I think most people use it for repair & restoration (noise reduction, de-reverb etc etc).DrGonzo wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 3:03 pm Just out of curiosity, what are you using Spectralayers for?
PS: It's ARA compatible too.

I did not know it converted audio to midi - where is that function located?musicproducerdee wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 8:04 pmFor me, it would help in extracting stems out of a full song. Sorry, I mixed up Cubase's Chord Track with Spectralayers, I just realized. My bad. As far as I'm aware, Spectralayers doesn't convert audio to midi. I could be wrong though.neverbefore wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 8:28 pmI did not know it converted audio to midi - where is that function located?musicproducerdee wrote: Wed Jun 28, 2023 8:04 pmFor me, it would help in extracting stems out of a full song. Weird, I wonder if Cubase users are going to get a Spectralayers One 10? Still showing 9 here, but I can install the full trial for 10.. We got bumped up from 8 to 9, was kinda hoping they would keep that going..

SpectraLayers One 10 will only come with Cubase 13 (and will require a Cubase 13 license).
