hey guys, wondering what your opinion and experiences are so far?
im reordering some of my tracks which i wanted to share with some close people and i made up an order/tracklist but im rethinking it atm. being a techno/experimental project i wonder how listeners mostly tend to be? im not talking about some ambient stuff etc. but more driven and midtempo music. i dont use spotify and while checking other releases from more known artists i kinda feel as you should also follow a rule?
after an intro (maybe) is it best said to start right off with a more impactful, energetic track instead of midtempo/slower track? to get the listener's attention? first i planned an intro -> midtempo -> bit faster track.
now im rethinking to throw in a track which hits faster first so intro -> fast -> midtempo and so on.
i wonder what you maybe experienced or maybe hear/see from others?
Tracklist order - your opinion about trackplacements?

Well I doubt albums are actually listened sequentially anymore. Most playlists I see now are cherry-picked from multiple artists, without any purpose to the order other than the date they were added to the list.
If I had to design a tracklist, and assume the listener will listen to it sequentially, what really matters is the first and last track, as that determines the mood going in and out. The rest is malleable.
