Roland TR-8 audio over USB too loud

Hi all. The Roland TR-8 audio over USB is too loud. I am routing each individual channel in Ableton Live (11 audio tracks) but if i set the kick fader to the max, it clips. Is there a way to reduce the output gain ?

I have tried using a utility device to reduce the input, but no luck. The utility is only applied after the recording has been done.

He can do that and that's the most immediate way but there is a better way. He is just silly.

Each instrument apart from the fader has also digital gain which is defined per instrument and per kit. It can be accessed (surprise) at the TR-8S menu or via their software editor.

That's how you actually create kits. Fader fully up is unity gain and with that, you can jam and turn fader all the way up without worrying to clip or something silly while the actual gain is set in the kit individual instrument gain. And nothing is clipping at USB he is just too silly to read the darn manual or at least to see some cool youtube videos.

Cant understand why you are calling me silly, mr monkey. i just do not own a TR-8. I am asking for a friend. I do own a TR-8S and there i know perfectly how to adjust the gain of each instrument in the menus of the machine, i don't need a software editor, like you mention.

Apologies if that's the case, for my prejudice and my instant idiotic shenanigans. I thought you purchased the unit and didn't RTFM.

Basically, nothing is too loud, tell your friend that there is a way to tune each and every instrument gained within a kit. And that can be saved. You use faders for jamming. Gain value to tune it to whatever you want within kit.

I have TR-8S and trust me everything is fine with the USB outs. I use Tr-8S connected to my sound interface but when in another room it is connected via USB and streaming all channels. Works the same, super fine.

I see it's about an older model - TR-8 So when you say you (or him) know in fact about the individual instrument gain then I don't know what is your problem but you can imagine if there were USB problems with the too-loud signal you would not be the only one complaining about this - and currently you are.

So my bold guess is something is within your setup. Otherwise, you would see this issue mentioned in every forum and in every video since the beginning.
