Are the modes the only approximation of a pre-delay for the plugin's reverb effects, or are one of the other parameters considered a pre-delay?

If I understand your question correctly, yes. It's a great reverb for smaller sounds as well.
Can't beat the price either, just try it, I bet you'll forget all about pre-delay.

Likewise. There's no predelay as such but for A) a freebie and B) such a gorgeous sound, predelay is kinda irrelevant. It's not that kind of reverb/delay. I have actually used it smallerized as an ambience on drums, just for shits & giggles to see what it can do and it was surprisingly good at that. But it's not what it's for or aimed at. You don't need predelay for reverb the size of a minor galaxy, trust me, if it was being realistic then the predelay would need to be measured in weeks not seconds...
