Posit raised from another thread.
Interested in what KVRians DAW/OS application is. So only offering those options that run on all OSs to be fair.
Maybe discuss your explorations of these and hopefully without the "versus" aspects of which is "better"? Otherwise, discuss as you will.
You can choose 3 and change your vote at any time.

While I start with testing on Windows, it's usually with Linux in mind that I eventually want to be on. And I've tried all four consistently over the years, but recentlly dropped Mixbus after their acquisition by another company.

From the list
Windows Reaper - for mixing
Apple Bitwig - for electronic music production

picked Reaper 7+ both on Windows/OS. 7+ because the UI's framerate appears to have been improved compared to the 6.x.x. versions, resulting in smoother playhead movement etc. I've also applied a Logic skin and use Voltage2 as a VST3/2 plugin host.

I really love those cables—sorry for the enthusiasm! They provide visually rich feedback. :wheee: (and Reaper is the only DAW in the known universe which able to pass the 'space' key even from some opened plugin window from Voltage2 to the host)

None of the above. But practically, right now, I only use Studio One 4.6 Pro on Windows 10.

If forced to make a choice, I don't have enough knowledge/background to be dangerous.

Personally, I use Mixcraft 10 Pro Studio with Windows 11

Ableton Live 10 on Win 7 (because of old audiophile2496 PCI)
Soft Knees - Live 12, Diva, Omnisphere, Slate Digital VSX, TDR, Kush Audio, U-He, PA, Valhalla, Fuse, Pulsar AUDIO, NI, OekSound etc. on Win11Pro R7950X & RME AiO Pro

Yes, I expected the gallery to make the usual commentary of "where's mine" and directed that to the comment section. They specifically are "Squid" in this poll. The point being more about the OS over the DAW and specifically excluding DAWs that operate on only one OS. In fairness to all OSs, it therefore limits it to just those DAWs that are available for them. None of those have a Linux version.
If I've missed a DAW that has a version for all three, please point it out.

Apologies:
I see I've made an edit which has reset the poll as well. I found those responses, albeit small, to be interesting. Hopefully everyone will make their votes again.

That's a bit of a contradiction, or at least a stangeness :ud: What exactly are you trying to prove?

I'm not going to try and convince you of seeing anything other than what you've decided to see before commenting here. There's another thread about DAWs in general already going where that's being discussed.
It was from that thread that I garnered this posit and laid out in as equitable factors as I know of. If this causes you a contradiction within yourself, then that is interesting to observe as well. It was not done to confirm or prove anything but what comes from it.
If it feels strange to you, that's okay too.

This is a silly way to put the question to vote. Some purchase a Mac specifically to use Logic. Some choose Linux and then have to pick amongst the available DAWS. Some are staunch Windows users who, again, choose anything BUT Logic.

Then, there are the people who love their DAW, but changes platforms for other reasons that are not DAW related.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

And they have the option to vote "Squid" or not vote at all. And of course, they're free to comment here what they do use instead...

If you have a way you prefer to posit a poll, then by all means, create it.

Reason on windows. So.... Squid I guess?? Haha.
Windows 10 PC. Reason. Cubase. Waveform. Reaper. Studio One Pro. Epiphone Les Paul Pro II. Nektar Panorama t4. Yamaha RBX Bass. Faderport 2. Eris E5 Monitors. SSL2 Interface. Audient Evo 4. AKG C214. Aston Origin. MXL 990.

Post

Windows 8.1 and Live 11 (why isn't Live in the poll?)

FYI Tracktion = Waveform
