Sadly Lexicon PCM got discontinued before it got updated to VST3 and Apple M1 native.

Relab LX480

If VST3 does not get released I'll personally never spend a single penny with Lexicon again.

Very poor show if not, from a long term respected brand. Many smaller companies manage this easily, so if the parent company does not port for VST3 it speaks volumes.

If I recall this was being sold for about $800.00 for a big portion of its product life.

Superb reverb especially for the very low CPU usage, you can run so many of them even on an old machine.

I'll avoid everything Harman audio myself if no VST3. Just goes to show you just never quite know when you are gong to get bitten. I am likely to be ok for a good few years and have alternatives yet but I appreciate this heads up.

What, is the the native lexicon pcm not ilok? If you need an alternative to something that needs ilok then why cannot be that the case with the alternative. Unless ilok is the reason of looking for an alternative

Post

I always iLoking as an alternative.

I would also recommend Relab LX480 Complete. It sounds great and you have an exact copy of the 480L. It also has the RHall HD algorithm which improves on the original.

Thank you guys, after demoing the ones you recommend and listening to audio samples, I bought ReLab LX480 V4.

btw, ilok was not a limiting decision for me since ilok plugins can be activated and used in iCloud “mode”,
but most UAD plugins including their emulation of lexicon 480L require an inconvenient hardware dongle known as “accelerator” or “interface”, I own Apollo X4 and if I got their 480L I would run out of sharc cpu power very quickly

Arturia have a new-ish offering, Rev LX-24. Unfortunately you just missed a sale. It might be a while before another one rears its head.

I have the old Native Instruments RC24/48 now called Reverb Classics:

I never use them because I use ValhallaDSP.

No, the sale is on until 15 August.

I have LX480 and debating whether or not I need Rev LX-24. I have an OTO BAM and I think Rev LX-24 is closer to that sound.
