TRANSPOSER is a free multiscript utility that instantly applies the "transposition trick" to your Kontakt instruments. (Kontakt 5.8.1 or higher.)
Useful for situations where you need duplicate instruments playing in unison, and want to avoid phasing. Designed to be a time-saver, Transposer conveniently applies the effect, and lets you A/B and bypass quickly, to hear the timbral differences.
TRANSPOSITION TRICK
The goal is to clone an instrument, but trigger a different sample set to avoid phasing. To do this, you transpose the instrument down 2 semitones, then raise the pitch up 2 semitones (which returns you back to the original note). Or vice-versa.
Why 2 semitones? Because typically instruments are sampled in whole steps. So you transpose enough to trigger the nearest neighboring sample set. (There's an option to transpose 1 semitone as well.)
Using the transposition trick also affects the sounds in other ways. It often brightens or darkens the timbre (making a flute sound more like an alto flute for example). It also changes the feel of the vibrato, by speeding it up or slowing it down. So you can use Transposer to achieve creative effects as well. ("Instant 50s strings" one user mentioned to me.)

TIPS ON USING
Tranposer will apply pitch changes to all instruments within an instance of Kontakt. Changing settings while in the middle of playing can sometimes lead to stuck notes. If this happens, press the "!" button to silence all hanging notes.
