Octatrack for lo-fi?

I've already got most of the current Elektron boxes, except for the Models and an Octatrack. I've always blown off the idea of getting an Octatrack, since I don't actually do a lot of sampling of external sources (and the lack of Overbridge). But, the more I learn about it, the more appealing it sounds, especially as a main brain for my hardware synths and other Elektron devices. But, the main thing is, I've really started liking the idea of using it for my more chilled out, lo-fi downtempo and triphop songs. My Digitakt does OK, especially with the new SRR feature, but the Octatrack really seems to be a perfect instrument for getting that gritty, crunchy, lo-fi vibe (it even has the lo-fi effects per track).

I keep seeing them selling for pretty cheap in my area and almost every time I try to sell something locally, people offer me an Octatrack on trade. I'm pretty close to taking the plunge, but would love to hear from Octatrack owners and, especially, those who own/have compared it with the Digitakt. FWIW, it wouldn't replace my Digitakt or anything else, it would just be an addition to my studio.

I think the Octatrack's effects section is one of it's best features. I know some people who mostly use the OT as a mixer and multi-effect and barely use the sampling functions. Since you can use the MIDI section to sequence instruments which are routed to the OT's inputs and you can P-lock and modulate the effects channel levels and such, it's very powerful in that regard.
Probably not a risky proposition, if you can buy one and resell for around the same price.

Of all of the Electron boxes, the Octatrack is the most tempting for me because of the fader and midi controller features. I never cared about going 'OTB' ditching my DAW so I never made the plunge.
I'm sure you can sample at a low bitrate and get crunchy drums and it says you can even do it "on-the-fly" so getting that oldschool four-track sound is certainly an option. Just watched a video where a guy was explaining his mixdown of tracks within the Octatrack and he never mentioned that the technique was invented on four-track tape recorders- kids!

Thanks for the input! I'm going to keep the OT near the top of my wish list, but I think I'm going to hold off for now. I actually decided over the past week that my higher priority was to re-purchase a Digitone, since I sold mine for some stupid reason a few months ago and now I'm regretting that more than I'm wanting an OT. I do think buying an OT is inevitable, though, and probably before the end of the year.
