Any Benefit to Upgrading USB3.1 Gen1 to USB3.1 Gen2 for an audio interface?

MY PC's onboard USB3 ports are USB 3.1 Gen1 (5 GPS).

I have a Steinberg UR24c interface on the way.

Would there be any benefit to adding a USB 3.1 Gen2 (10 GPS) PCIe card? (Lower latency, improved response times, etc)?

Not really although if you have lots of audio to transfer over usb that would be faster

Not really. Steinberg says that specific interface happily works with USB 2.0, plenty of bandwidth there...

Faster? How? It will by definition be at the rate dictated by your ASIO driver.

The only thing that will benefit from the extra bandwidth is a device like a external disk drive or monitor, but only if you connect that over USB 3/C.

No, but can get lower DPC latency with

For lower RTL latency, try higher sampling rates(need more CPU power)
and/or lower ASIO buffer or change to a RME audio interface.

Only if your drives support Gen2 transfer speeds too.
(I could be wrong, but I don't think that there are many non-SSD 'Gen2 or faster' external drives out there)

None at all, it's only for hard drives, blue ray drives, virtual reality, memsticks, and external graphics cards, that sort of thing. Was actually based on esata at one point if I remember correctly.

If you have older case to ciz a hole , Windows and some tech skills. You can by a RME HDSP PCI Card. I used the StarForce PCI PCIE adapter. This gives you lower latency and reduce CPU by 10% on large Projects.

This is arround 150 and Projekt for a Weekend. Replaced my USB soundcard 3 years ago.

Worked on Intel z370 and now AMD5 Board on Windows 10/11.
