I want to challenge myself a bit.

I made a few tunes with the Korg and it was fun but I am running out of chords. I then used my Casio CT-X5000 but the difference is big.

But then I got an idea, what if I try to "master" each keyboard. With that I mean: make a beat with EACH style, going from the first style to the last.

That way I can reuse chord progressions if needed because that is not the point anymore then, the point is to challenge myself and master the keyboard.

There will be A LOT of styles that do not interest me at all like many World and Latina styles but thats the challenge: I need to create a beat with it, even if it may be as simple as it can be, there needs to be a beat.

When I succeed I offcially mastered the keyboard.

What do you all think of this idea?

but the journey is a good one, better than not taking it, if it's what you desire!

Maybe you need some context: arranger keyboards.
He got bored and now needs a challenge.

Thank you for your support, I might have understood it wrong. I apologize.
I already posted the two tracks I did, but now I am gonna change the idea up a bit because if I go from 1 to whatever the count may be then I will be playing every genre the one after the other.

With fun genres thats not bad, with less fun genre's it will be bad.

So I changed the idea and will now play one song from each genre. First the first songs, then the second songs.

This will bring more variation genre wise. I did create allready track one and two of the arranger keyboard and they are both pop, I will continue now with the new idea and when I get to pop again I will just skip it one time because of the second track which I allready made.

Well that is one way to familiarize yourself with arranger keyboards, but they also provide songs to play along with too; I would at least think that would be an important part of "mastering" them.

For comparison, my musical progress is now measured solely by what my fingers want to do moment by moment; I no longer have rails to guide my journey.

Ah yes thats not a bad idea to be honest, thank you for bringing this to my antention! Ah yes I have a problem with melodies to be honest, they take a lot of work and time and I always ran in troubles that because of my commitment I tend to keep practicing for too long and then I crash.

I had this happen in the past, its not nice... but I will think about it.

And I understand you but in that case you only do what you like to do. I now have done a few styles I would never even look at and was able to create something with it that I actually enjoy!

Idea wont work, I checked the Casio for the build in songs but they allready have a melody for some reason. Since not all keyboards therefor have these kinds of songs I will not do it.
I actually just want to play styles too. But it was a great idea to be honest!

I did find the accompanies you talk about but to be honest: I have enough work now already. I like to be able to buy new keyboards and on the casio alone the songs you talk about or 300 total...

It will already take months to complete it my way... and I really like to be able to buy a new keyboard from time to time. So I am not gonna do that
