Hello, music enthusiasts!
I'm attempting to create a shaker pattern that sounds natural using a shaker sample. I'm encountering some difficulties in achieving the authentic "back and forth" sound. If I reverse every second note it doesn't sound right.
What are your best tips for achieving the "Ritsch, ratsch" sound?

Analyse the difference between the sound of a real shaker going back & forth. As you found out, it's not a reversed sound.
I'd say accented notes typically have somewhat higher pitch (one semitone might be enough) higher volume and more high frequencies.
With most samplers you can control the pitch volume and some also have a filter. Try using that...

unless there is some real need to do it with samples, some sounds are easier just to grab a mic and the actual instrument.ferdik wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 5:45 pm Hello, music enthusiasts!

You’ll need the right samples, at least 2 of them. But if you’re after „authentic“ sound while maintaining flexibility, you’re probably better off with a plugin like Skaka
