And even with some interestig onboard synthesis options, instead of same ol same ol analog modelling of "legendary" synths like the 303 for a 10th time. And even quite a few controls for below 1.000 €. I think Roland might have a winner here.
I just hope the supersaw waveform isn't sampled like on the GAIA 1.

Well it's still a Zen-Core synth so essentially the same synth engine as most other synths and boxes they've released in recent years. Still the hardware itself looks pretty good and inviting.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

While I wish Roland would get over their allergies to analog chips, this really is the most interesting thing I’ve seen from them in a long time. And, wow, full sized keys! Should be a winner.

$899 USD street price, not bad for a synth with this many features.

No aftertouch, though. That would be a dealbreaker as a MIDI controller for many people.chk071 wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 4:17 pm Probably a pretty nice MIDI controller as well, with all those controls.
The lack of AT is a pretty big miss IMO. If Roland could have included poly AT on this thing and still kept it under $1K, I think that would've been pretty huge.

It is Zen Core so nothing new under the sound therechk071 wrote: Thu Sep 28, 2023 10:55 am And even with some interestig onboard synthesis options, instead of same ol same ol analog modelling of "legendary" synths like the 303 for a 10th time. It even comes with the Zen SH101 synth and you can add the other Zen Synth Model expansion inside the synth too.
I was tempted until i saw that it actually was'nt something new except for wavetables and since i already have Zenology Pro with the zen versions of Jupiter 8, Juno 106, jx8P and the JD 800 + a Roland MV-1 i am well covered in the Zen Eco System.
I also have the Tiny S-1 "SH101 ACB with extra functions".
It would have been a great addon to my setup If i only had the MV-1 and not Zenology Pro since you need Zenology Pro to make your own sounds for the MV-1.
