Hello,
Im here cause im interested in buying VocalSynth 2 for my Ableton Live 11 but Id like to get some information before any purchase.
I watched quite a lot of videos on the Internet concerning the VS2 environment but theres something I always see and Im wondering about: to make the plugin work, we need a pre-recorded audio track. However, what Id like to do is using the plugin the same way I use my current vocoder (which is an Electrix Warp Factory Vocoder) by using a basic saw wave from my Microkorg as source input and my microphone as formant input BUT at the same time I want to make the plugin work without recording before playing. I want to play and it works, I just want to enjoy the vocoder, not necessarily record all the time each time I want to use it :|
Basically what I want is to do something like performance but just for fun. The thing is I have absolutely no idea how to do it. I could use my Microkorg as source input but also just something like Serum (in any case I just need a basic sawtooth wave).

Voilà.. If you have any advice or information about it, or just tell me if its possible or not, I would be really grateful.

Thank you!!

Yeah I got it cheap or free some years ago, and never really use it. Not keen on the ugly algorithms (just a bit too unstable and glitchy for my liking), can't feed two external sources (like, a voice and a synth, as you'd like to do), I'd never put it on a vocal which is going to sit at the front of a production/mix; it's for sitting in the background.

The other thing is you can't do real-time vocoder! Like, I would ask them in the development process, "why aren't we making it so it can be played live - we've already included a 'low latency talkbox' option so why not?" but I wasn't so the product ended up like this.

You could try the Zynaptiq vocoder (I've done a vid about it here)

At least it does real-time vocodering! There are a couple more I A/B against it for a few more options.

Thanks to you I made my own researches about this vocoder and actually it seems very interesting too. The thing is Im searching a very specific sound from the VocalSynth VST, and a preset was made by the channel Talha Vocoding which makes me very interested about.

Here he is using VS2 the way I would like to use it BUT I literally see no one else use it this same way... And there's no information about how he does that and thats very frustrating.

I think that even if I cant use it the way I want Ill have to take it.. I prefer that instead of buying a real Digitech Talker around 1000$ oof

Not hearing anything special in the above example. Just typical vocoder with some effects. Maybe its the playing style your wanting to ape

The example is trying to reproduice the Digitech Talker sound, its very specific but yeah for the moment I dont care. So yes what Im searching for is how to play VocalSynth the same way its used in the video: playing and having the effect directly instead of recording an audio vocal track before and adding the VocalSynth effects to it
