I have seen adds on Harmony Central and other Maudio sites that talk about the Premium refills. I have also noticed that Scott Wilkie (product specialist) has been playing these sounds since the beginning of the year and I just want to know if we will get to use them before the new year. Thanks for your time.

They are not listed on the M-Audio site... or sonic reality or esoundz... maybe some ways away.

We ran into a little delay. But, they're coming out one by one. The first release is the Premium Grand C7 which features a 200+ meg Yamaha C7 in both 24 bit and 16 bit for Reason. It should be available in about 2 weeks or less. Hot off the press. The next one is Premium Acoustic Guitar. These two sound incredible. Then there will be more to follow.

What will the CPU requirements be to play the 24 bit samples?

Well, luckily Reason is fairly efficient on the CPU in the first place. But, the funny thing is that this is why we felt okay with going a little over the top for the premiums. The idea is opposite to the approach of the regular Sonic Refill line where variety of sounds are the goal. In this case, there is less variety (much less) but a focus on one or a few sounds that are really stellar and use the NNXT to its limits. Depending on your CPU you can use the 16 bit or 24 bit versions. Only subtle differences to be honest but if you are working on a 24 bit track and you want to track a pristine piano bounced to audio or rewired in then... this is a great thing for Reason users to have!jimmyrich97 wrote:What will the CPU requirements be to play the 24 bit samples?
It's funny because there are a lot of people that have Reason around to play with and maybe its connected to their ProTools and they use it for writing or whatever. But, once you have that set up then it opens the doors to possible content that works really well with it. That's what we've discovered and a lot of people are using Reason in more and more professional situations with our high quality sounds.

Squids,
With that said, what will be the cpu/ram requirements for the 24 bit samples. I can't wait to get my hands on these. Seems much attention has been given to these samples. I use Reason for everything, from jazz, to hip hop, classical, to gospel. Looking forward to the piano, guitars, and choir samples. Eventually, I would like the entire collection. I am looking at getting a lap top and using my keystation pro for live stuff. Will the piano and guitar samples be out before the new year?

Yes. We'll have it up there in the next 1-2 weeks.DKeenum wrote:Will esoundz carry the premium refills?

The piano will be out in two weeks. The guitar will be out in less than four weeks. So, yes.jimmyrich97 wrote:Squids,

The CPU requirements? I mean, something relatively new such as a computer bought in the last couple of years. P4 equivalent or I've been using a Centrino 1.6 gig Sony and it plays great on that. Solid. It's good to have a gig of ram though but min is 512 really.

That's a good question. The process is slower than the regular Sonic Refill line (of which you can expect to see 5-10 new ones before the year is up). So, I don't know. They'll come out one at a time and as long as Reason users are buying them as much as they buy the Sonic Refills then we'll move accordingly. But, this Grand C7 and the Acoustic Gtr are stellar. The Premium Drum Kits is also really great.defjamm wrote:damn this sounds all great![]()
squids, when do you think the whole premium series will be available completely?
