In an apparent leak from online retailer B&H in New York (page now removed), it seems that KORG has entered the MIDI 2.0 controller keyboard fray with the introduction of the Keystage keyboard controllers with PolyAT. The specifications look impressive, especially if MPE is your thing! Let’s take a look at what we know…

Price is listed as $599 for the Keystage 49 and $699 for the Keystage 61. No information is currently available on release dates.

I actually like a lot the looks, no pads, sleek, a screen, no need for a wrapper. If DAW adopt MIDI 2.0 fast this will be a great option.

Wonder if Roland, Yamaha or inMusic are planning something similar.

Roland sent out a customer survey that indicated they're working on a controller. That was fairly recently, though, so I assume it won't arrive for a while.

For that price, I’d typically expect to see a good Fatar keybed, more assignable knobs and buttons, and probably drum pads. So, I’m guessing those were some of the tradeoffs for poly AT and MIDI 2.0, but I guess we’ll see.

pricey but KORG keyboards and Controllers always have good keyfeel
(better than Fatar, Korg used to use Yamaha keybeds which are much better than Fatar )
Wish they had 76 key or 73 version, and less features to keep the price down.
All I want from MIDI controllers:
1. Excellent keyfeel.
2. Pitch and Mod wheel.
3. Octave keys
4. Transpose keys.

I am surprised as well as disappointed that Korg is making a controller with wheels not joysticks.
It was the primary reason why I keep Roland and Korg Keyboard controllers on my system.
(The Roland A90 has both of course to make both camps happy)..rsp

It uses the ASM keybed, licensed from the parent company, so if you don't like the Hydrasynth feel then you might not like it.
Assuming the feel can't be changed

Adorama seems to have pricing and specs in the US. Wonder if Arturia might consider a poly AT? I've gone back and forth on an NI Kontrol mk3 but so much backlash against them and pricier for sure

Yeah, I was in the same “boat”, but after recent NI announcement in regards to KK1 termination I’ve decided to jump off the NI ship…

I actually prefer wheels, because I mostly do orchestral / cinematic composing

Yes and I use a footpedal for cc1 (along with an amc3 slider more recently) so I know it has its uses... but nothing beats a joystick for pitch bend for me...

You know I probably won't be buying anything else from Korg because their USB MIDI drivers are buggy and they haven't fixed them in months...
