ARGH!! I mean, erm, HELP! :help:

Now that I'm cranking out crappy music videos, I need a decent video editor to assemble clips and chop up videos to make clips from.

George Lucas I'm not, so something affordable and does-the-job would be fine (until I can afford Adobe crap).

Any recommendations (other than 'making porn is a better income')?

All info appreciated! :D

My vote goes to the free version of DaVinci Resolve. It might look daunting at first but there's plenty of tutorials for it. I used it for the few videos I made on YT years ago. Bonus points for being cross-platform too (though the free version on Linux is kinda lame).

You better check twice. I just found this New England video company was selling 3D converted versions of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the original). They thought it was Public Domain, is even up on the internet Archive, but someone renewed the copyright in 1983. They had to take it down and refund all the preorders.

I do my research - I used to be a game developer in Silicon Valley and had an intellectual property lawyer, trust me, I'm VERY careful about rights and clearances!

Good to bring it up, though - not everybody has a background in IP law.

My first effort will be 'Duck And Cover', downloaded from the Library of Congress public domain archives. PERFECT for some creepy, scary, proto-nuclear terror! :o :cry: :help:

'm in Tutorial Hell right now,cramming like crazy. I did see it find a lot of my VST effects, that'll let me mangle original soundtracks into the stuff bad acid causes.

Damn thing does a LOT, this will do what I need and After Effects s $21/mo if I need more power.

Right now, between Resolve and Visual Synthesizer, I'm a happy but brain-sore camper! :wheee: :wheee:
