Ableton Live - Track Delay Feature . . . Any Other DAWs have this?

This is an amazing way to fine-tune clips into the pocket. Does any other DAW have this feature? I realize all DAWs enable users to move clips around via a crude nudge, but do any enable such fine tuning that does not impact the entire timeline?

Any idea what/where in Logic? I'm also looking into if Reaper has it.Trancit wrote: Wed Oct 25, 2023 9:13 pm Yes, nearly every DAW has something like this... Studio One, Cubase, Logic, Bitwig (as a plugin), FL Studio etc...

I have to admit that Logic was just a guess ... no clue if it does it or not while I cannot imagine that it wouldn´t...
In Reaper you need to go the plugin route same as Bitwig... in the JS plugins there are several plugins doing it like "Channel Time Delayer [LOSER]"... this is even more advanced as it allows you not only to delay the channel positively or negatively but even does it for left/right seperately which basically includes directly a Haas effect...

Thanks so much for the screenshot. Can this be used for both MIDI and Audio?
I realize it shifts an entire track, but can this feature also be used to shift selected regions without affecting the rest of a track?

Yep. That option is per region, not per track. The per track option is lower in that screenshot and should show delay in MS vs ticks. So you use the on under more to delay per region, you use the one under the track section for per track delay.tommyzai wrote: Wed Oct 25, 2023 10:34 pm Thanks so much for the screenshot. Edit: Forgot to mention that if you click on the arrow in the Delay area it will show you ticks as ms. So if you are looking for a specific millisecond delay it will show you what the ticks are in ms.

If this is meant serious it´s a bit overdriven... there is actually not much of a difference between adjusting a track delay vs. aligning stuff visually by moving the clips... I actually like the latter better (I love this rhymesimmo75 wrote: Thu Oct 26, 2023 12:59 am I’m deeply concerned that you’ve never heard of track delays before… how have you ever aligned different sources?

Cubase has 'Track Delay' in the Inspector. Sadly, not selectable per clip/region as yet...

Ableton includes least features among all the DAWs. Maybe it is a good thing, maybe not. I upgraded to Bitwig but I miss some features when I compare Bitwig to Studio One, but never missed a single thing from Ableton.

I found a plugin that does this in Reaper, but I think it was a part of some ReaPack I downloaded and added to it. It's very cool and has a slider lever to nudge the delay. Actually used it in a project and it worked.
