I tried the demo version of Strymons Deco and I like it a lot. It is a very musical sounding VST, with a very smooth saturation. It sounds great on drums and guitars and probably a lot more instruments. But before pulling the trigger on this one I would like to know what alternatives there are to the Deco. After all, in essence it is just a tape saturator + doubler. Are there plugins that do a similar job?
Thanks.
P.S. I just realized that the Valhalla delay has drive + doublers so that might work; will try that tonight.
Alternatives to Strymon Deco VST?

Well, you need some kind of saturation/drive, together with some wow & flutter, a bit of short echo/delay.
A few that come into my mind.
AudioThing - Reels
Wavesfactory - Cassette
AberrantDSP - SketchCassette
So basically anything thats similar to those, which should be quite a few. Maybe you already got one of the best solutions with Valhalla - Delay.
Another awesome one and maybe not so obvious would be ToneBoosters - ReelBus.

U-he's Satin can do very similar. Throw it in delay mode, mix in some dry signal, adjust the speed, distance, and wow and flutter controls. Adjust low/hi cuts to taste.
